DUG 2016 - Conference Transportation

Is this starting to sound like Planes, Trains and Automobiles? Hold on! Getting to the DUG 2016 conference is actually going to be fun, comfortable, and affordable! Here are some transportation tips related to the upcoming conference.

DUG 2016

Houston, TX - September 19 - 21

Arlington, TX - September 21 - 23

*Plus a day of free workshops September 24th at UT-Arlington!

Flight Options

In many cases, buying one-way tickets is similar or less than a round trip. A few months ago, and again yesterday, I priced tickets between Salt Lake City and the conference destinations. The cost of a round trip is $310 (to Dallas and back) or $350 (to Houston and back). Meanwhile, the cost of two one-way tickets (total) is $317. So, it's a good deal flight-wise to attend the full conference (yeah!). I have priced a few cities for which the one-way tickets came up significantly cheaper--shop around and grab your best deal!

Getting from Houston to Dallas

Transportation from Houston to Dallas is provided as part of your registration, so there are no extra transportation costs! The transportation will be by luxury bus complete with comfortable, reclining seats, A/C (obviously--it's summertime in Texas!), restroom, and wireless Internet!

I might point out that this ride occurs before the Standards Meeting, Business Meeting, and the talks/seminars. So if you are presenting at the conference, you will have time to take a break from playing cards and catching up with planetarium friends to get last-minute preparations done.

I'm looking forward to seeing you in Houston and Dallas in September!
