DUG 2019 Begins in Dayton, Ohio

Fifteen pre-DUG workshops were run between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon, and the Standards Meeting is complete. Next, DUG delegates are assembling for an opening reception to be followed by events in the Caryl D. Philips Space Theater:

  • Showcase presented by the Boonshoft Museum's planetarium staff

  • Planets of Star Wars presented by Kevin Scheiman of the Boonshoft Museum (look for parts of this presentation to be added to the DUG Library and Cloud!)

  • Starlight Productions presentation by Aaron McEuen

  • Bowen Technovation presentation by Jeff Bowen

  • DUG Demos Session 1 - D5 demos on the Boonshoft D5 system!

Thursday will begin with seminars and a musical performance:

  • Digistar Control of AstroFX Systems

  • Live Planetarium Performance by Nouveau Papillon with visuals created by Kevin Healy of Mesa Community College Planetarium

  • Brown Dwarfs: Storms on our Hidden Neighbors by Davin Flateau

  • Fulldome Gaming by Markus Schack

  • The Class Menagerie: A Look at Digistar's Object Classes by Karen Klamczynski

After lunch will be the Business Meeting and Support Forum/Feature Request Forum, and after a dinner break the conference will enjoy the following;

  • Planets of Star Wars--Behind the Scenes by Kevin Scheiman

  • DUG Demos Session 2 - D6 demos on E&S's D6 system

  • Dome3D presentation by Matt Mascheri

  • Chromacove presentation by Chuck Rau
